The Need for Speed
With Hollywood launching a sneak peek at the upcoming Top Gun sequel this week, the “need for speed” – uttered by Tom Cruise in the 1986 original movie – is even more relevant today as technological developments and product shipments can’t come soon enough.
To that end, there is a trend among manufacturers and large distributors in investing more dollars into establishing warehouse space in geographically strategic areas of the country to speed delivery of products to end-consumers and job sites. In some cases, the wait for some orders has been so long that customers have cancelled and selected replacements based on reasonable availability rather than preference or even brand loyalty.
When it comes to technological advances, the upcoming LightFair event promises to feature the latest developments from many major players in the industry as well as from smaller upstarts focused on providing innovative solutions to common problems. US Lighting Trends will be attending LightFair (stop by and see us at Booth #2277) and reporting on the new and noteworthy. If you haven’t booked your trip yet, hurry! LightFair is less than one month away. |
