ABB Secures $30 Million Order for Satellite Imaging Technology Helping Detect Environmental Changes in Near Real-Time
ABB has been awarded a contract worth around $30 million by the Canadian data and analytics company EarthDaily Analytics Corp. (EDA) to develop and manufacture next-generation multispectral imaging systems to be placed on 10 satellites (including an in-orbit spare) that will circle the Earth. The order was booked in the first quarter of 2022. Multispectral imaging systems capture data at specific light frequencies across a wide spectrum, and the EarthDaily Constellation network of satellites will be able to provide high-quality imagery in 22 spectral bands with resolution down to five meters. Siemens Reports Earnings Release Q1 FY 2022: Very Successful Start to Fiscal 2022
Orders for the first quarter surged 52% year-over-year, reaching €24.2 billion on double-digit increases in all industrial businesses, while revenue climbed 17% year-over-year, to €16.5 billion, for an extraordinary book-to-bill ratio of 1.47. Orders rose 42% and revenue grew 9% on a comparable basis, excluding currency translation and portfolio effects, primarily the acquisition of Varian Medical Systems, Inc. With strong growth in 2021, Endress+Hauser left the coronavirus pandemic behind economically. The Group’s consolidated sales rose more than 11 percent to just under 2.9 billion euros. Ontario Invests in Peterborough and Kawartha Lakes Manufacturers to Boost Regional Economy
The Ontario government is supporting an investment of nearly $5.5 million by three companies in Eastern Ontario to help strengthen local manufacturing, create jobs, attract investment and boost regional economic recovery.
