Our Trip to boot in Dusseldorf is Getting Closer
Details are firming up and the OnBoard Adventure to Dusseldorf is taking shape. Many of you responded positively to our initial proposal so we are getting specific about planning and prices.
Just to recap: Next January when you miss boating the most, we will head to Dusseldorf as special guests at the boot show, “the world’s largest indoor boat show”. Here's the draft itinerary (all in 2026!! – lots of time to plan):
Custom plan your trip our licensed travel agency, Voyage LM in Montreal. Once you’re in Europe, take as long as you like – go skiing in the Alps, tour Rome or grab some sun in the Canaries. Or whatever you choose.

App Review – Savvy Navvy
Asked if I would look and use the Savvy Navvy navigation app and share my impressions, I was curious enough to do a little background research before accepting. From the onset, the reviews I read were not that great with many negative comments. Being in software most of my career, I know how new programs can have growing pains.

BETTER. BEST. ELITE.
We all know the golden rule: safety first. But once the boat’s underway and the wind fills the sails, it’s tempting to shed that PFD and rely on confidence—or swimming ability. Jan Paul Ploeger
The boating community lost a good friend with the passing, on May 23, of Jan Ploeger. Taken far too soon, at the age of 50, Jan was a very worthy successor to Bernie Luttmer as owner and President of Swans Yacht Sales. Jan attended high school in Whitby and graduated Georgian College in 1996 with a Diploma in Marine Technology. Having grown up with boats, sailing with his family...

Solving Fender Fumbles
Getting a fender to hang just right, where it best protects the boat, takes time, a knowledge of knots, and often a bit of trial and error. And this is repeated every time the vessel is docked, no matter how choppy the water or wet the deck. Accon Marine’s Quick Release Fender Hanger ends this headache. It makes deploying and retrieving fenders so simple even a non-boating guest can do it.
