Rule 68-000 notes that this is a supplementary or amendatory section of the code and applies to the electrical installation of pools, electrical equipment associated with pools and metal accessories in or within 3 m of a pool, and includes permanently installed and storable swimming pools, hydromassage bathtubs, spas, and hot tubs, wading pools, baptismal pools, decorative pools, and splash pads. Obituary
Remembering Nairn McQueen
Nairn Melbourne McQueen passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, on July 29, 2022, at the age of 72 in Burlington, Ontario. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Cheryl, of 46 years, he was a proud father to Mark (Jodi), David (Andrea), and loving Poppa/Grandpa to Matthew, Evan, Ethan, and Blake. He will be sorely missed and was taken from us far too early. He grew up in Dundas, Ontario and attended both Royal Military College at Kingston and McMaster University, graduating with a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) degree and later earning his coveted P. Eng designation. Nairn's career spanned 40 years in major capital projects in Canada, USA, Japan, India, and the middle east. From a young engineer at Dofasco Inc. in Hamilton to Canada Packers in Toronto, in Saskatchewan with Prince Albert Pulp Company, to progressive executive roles with Cambrian Engineering (Agra Monenco) and Ontario Hydro Services Company, his love for the profession was evident every day. - Government of Canada Launches Second Round of Public Engagements to Establish the Clean Electricity Regulations
The Minister of Environment and Climate Change has announced the publication of the proposed Frame for the Clean Electricity Regulations. This is the second engagement document that will guide the development of the Clean Electricity Regulations (CER). It follows a discussion paper published in March 2022. Formerly known as the Clean Electricity Standard, the federal government has collaborated with the provinces and territories, Indigenous partners, utilities, industries, academics, non-governmental organizations, and interested Canadians in the development of the CER.
- Schneider Electric Makes Steady Progress Toward 2025 Sustainability Targets
Schneider Electric announced the results of its sustainable impact program for the second quarter of 2022. Schneider’s Sustainability Impact (SSI) scored 4.17 out of ten, relative to its 4.70 year-end target. The SSI dashboard measures Schneider’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) performance. It details the progress made on each of the company’s global and local sustainability goals relative to long-term commitments on climate, resources, trust, equal opportunities, generations, and local communities.
