Message From The Editor
Looking Forward
As you may know from our previous issue, Line Goyette has moved on from our team. Line was a mentor to me and taught me a great deal about the industry, lighting, electrical, wholesale, as well as what it means to be an editor. I began with Kerrwil working under both Line and Owen Hurst, I benefited a lot from being able to learn from both of them. As my focused shifted more toward Line’s publications she gave me opportunity and helped increase my knowledge of the industry. Taking over Electrical Industry News Week last year I had a lot of fun working closely with her which only increased my appreciation of the work she has put in across three publications. Looking forward I hope to build on the great work she has done here for Lighting Design & Specification. Thank you, Line. Good reading! |

Despite being a smaller-sized city, it is known as an economic and industrial hub. It also has a strong focus on innovation and efficiency — as demonstrated by decisions such as the one it made in 2017 to use beet juice to help combat icy winter roads, allowing the City to reduce the amount of salt it was using, thereby saving money and decreasing the impact on the environment. Like many cities across North America, Cowansville is constantly looking for ways such as this to advance its use of new technologies, increase its sustainability efforts and help improve the lives of its citizens.
