Did you share your boating regulation comments with Transport Canada?
It may not be too late. Many voices are required to make our position heard in Ottawa, and the voices need to be national in scope. The federal government and their various departments will not respond to Provincial or municipal interests – that is not their responsibility.
There are several very significant issues being debated and there is a significant risk that new legislation could pass into law, that will damage the boat business and your personal livelihood. The public consultation period was scheduled to end December 11th but it may not be too late for your position to be heard.
Working together, NMMA Canada and the newly constituted association, CMRA have created Boating United. NMMA Canada, which represents the industry on public policy issues, advocating at provincial and federal levels of government to protect the interests of the marine industry and the users of products and CMRA (the Canadian Marine Retailers Association), which brings together the marine trade in Canada’s provinces, have created a website called Boating United.
