CY & BIC Bonus Read!
Who Is Excited for Boating Season?!
With Victoria Day Weekend around the corner, I decided to take a 3-day road trip to see what was happening in parts of Canada's Recreational Boating World. It was unseasonably hot here in Ontario and my A/C broke an hour into the trip - but that was ok because at every stop that I made, people were happy! The energy at marinas, dealers, Ports and chandleries was like a breathe of fresh-air. With long queues in many retail boating outlets and a high-energy buzz at marinas throughout, it was clear to me that this season is starting off in the right direction. I love this time of year!
May is usually when you get back onboard, clean up the moth balls, toss the No Damp, dust off rain gear and make a list of the boat supplies that you need (don't forget the holding tank treatment!). While you are thinking about where you will purchase these things, please keep in mind that your local suppliers really appreciate your business. If you don't see it on their shelves, just ask a staff member. Most-often, your items can be added to the next supplier order and they will have it to you within days. Canada's Recreational Boating Industry is a small community and one that we should apply #supportlocal rules too. If something on this edition of Boating Equipment News sparks an interest, I encourage you to reach out to your local marina or chandler first. Amazon can not provide you with in-personal service, expertise and appreciation you will receive from these customer-service focused, Canadian companies.
One more thing - I would love to see your #boatselfies! Don't be shy, take a few shots of you and crew, email to me at jillsnider@kerrwil.com and share a little background about the pic. We will share your pics on our CY Facebook Page. The pic that I have shared to the left is a favourite. This is my son at about 6 years old, clearly elated that he is out for his first boat ride of the year. Don't we all kind of know that feeling?
Wishing you all the best for a great season start.
Enjoy your Boating Equipment News for May, 2022.
