In this issue we have another installment from Bill Burr on Section 54 of the Canadian Electrical Code, which covers community antenna distribution and radio and television installations. We also have an interview with Charles Harte, Canadian President & CEO for LEDVANCE LLC, as well as VP of Marketing & Customer Experience for the U.S. and Canada region. Harte discusses his perspective on leadership, the importance of customer experience for LEDVANCE, as well as sharing some thoughts on the industry. On December 15th, Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced that starting on Monday, December 20, 2021, everyone 18 and older will be eligible to book their booster shot. - Residential Building Permits up for a Third Consecutive Month
The total value of building permits increased 6.8% to $11.2 billion in November. Seven provinces, led by Alberta (+20.6%) reported increases. Construction intentions in the residential sector rose 12.0% while the non-residential sector declined 3.4%. On a constant dollar basis (2012=100) building permits increased 6.3% to $7.6 billion.
- Residential Construction Investment Bucks Recent Trend in October
Investment in building construction, October 2021. Investment in building construction increased 1.6% to $17.8 billion in October, following five months of declines. Provincially, Quebec led the way, with growth of 3.5%. On a constant dollar basis (2012=100), investment in building construction increased 1.6% to $12.3 billion.
