Opportunity & Demand
In this issue we have a discussion with Robert Bronk of the Ontario Construction Secretariat in an article that looks at the labour demands, challenges, as well as the opportunity in the construction industry. Bronk notes that despite pessimism surrounding Canada's economy in 2023, there is a guarded optimism in construction. He notes that the industry has the ability to help the Canadian economy through the broader economic challenges. However, there is a need to not only replace retirees in construction but add significantly to the workforce, in order to meet demand. Similarly, Yoana Turnin from EHRC speaks to the importance of adding apprentices in the electricity industry to contribute to Canada’s net-zero future. |
