Celebrating International Women's Day
Of the many events and discussions celebrating the stories of women across the electrical industry, we have a couple featured here, including from Electro-Federation Canada. Join EFC at 2pm today as they discuss a tiered approach to fostering equity on industry, organizational, and individual levels with a panel of industry experts. Skills Ontario offers free attendance to their Women’s Day Conference and Workshop, and Schneider Electric shares perspective on women in the energy sector as part of World Women Hour. Shannon Tymosko reflects on female relationships, the women important to her life, as well as the impact women have on jobsite culture. We’ve seen investments by governments supporting gender diversity, commitment from industry organizations to D&I education, the infrastructure is being laid to support equity in the industry and the work continues. The electrical industry is one that represents a lot of opportunity, an industry that is growing and changing in a way that requires more talent entering the trades as demand grows and people retire. Which means that celebrating, promoting, and advocating for women in the industry is a necessity for growth.

I wouldn’t be anywhere without a few amazing women in my life! Read More
