SeaChange Receives 2021 Lighting Control Innovation Award of Merit

The Lighting Control Innovation Award was created in 2011 as part of the Illuminating Engineering Society’s Illumination Awards program, which recognizes professionalism, ingenuity and originality in lighting design. LCA is proud to sponsor the Lighting Control Innovation Award, which recognizes projects that exemplify the effective use of lighting controls in nonresidential applications. This month, LCA explores a lighting control solution installed at SeaChange, a light art installation in a vehicular underpass in Lonsdale Quay, North Vancouver, BC. Welcoming Lighting Design Emulates Company Culture
Montreal-based Earth Rated is a pet accessory company that has been on a growth trajectory since its inception. The team has changed office locations several times and most recently took over the seventh floor of an office building in the Town of Mont-Royal area of Montreal, Quebec. Local interior design team Conceptum International was hired to create a non-traditional office space that would be warm and welcoming for employees and their canine companions. Read More |

Ontario to Provide New and Expanded Energy-Efficiency Programs Including LED Incentives for Greenhouses
Ontario will be making available four new and expanded energy-efficiency programs, also known as Conservation and Demand Management (CDM) programs, to ensure a reliable, affordable, and clean electricity system to power the province, drive electrification and support strong economic growth. Including targeted support for greenhouses in Southwest Ontario, including incentives to install LED lighting, non-lighting measures or behind-the-meter distributed energy resources (DER), such as combined solar generation and battery storage. - Acuity Brands to Sell Sunoptics Prismatic Skylights Business
AES Industries, Inc. has entered into an agreement with Acuity Brands Lighting, Inc. to purchase its Sunoptics Prismatic Skylights business. The transaction is expected to close on November 10, 2022.

- BJ Take Completes a $4.8M Plant Expansion
BJ Take demonstrated its commitment to increasing manufacturing efficiency and speed to market by completing its $4.8M plant expansion. The expansion plan was developed in 2018 to optimize the factory’s efficiency in the product design, manufacturing and logistical areas.
- Lumileds Announces Confirmation of Plan of Reorganization
Lumileds Holding B.V. has announced that the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York has confirmed the Company’s Plan of Reorganization. Lumileds plans to emerge from the chapter 11 process the week of October 31 following the satisfaction of certain administrative items before the Plan becomes effective. Under the terms of the Plan, Lumileds will complete a comprehensive restructuring transaction which will reduce the Company’s funded debt by approximately $1.4 billion, provide capital to accelerate Lumileds’ growth, and enable further investment in innovation that will allow the Company to pursue additional strategic opportunities.
