Supporting Youth and the Skilled Trades; 2021 CE Code Changes Series
In this issue Alyssa Kerslake provides some inisght into a Support Youth Ontario event hosted by IDEAL that provides a foot hold to enter the trades for youth, as well as adults seeking a new career. The events are the result of government funding designed to bring new people into the trades and supplement the retiring workforce. We also have another article by Steve Douglas from the 2021 CE Code Changes series hosted by EFC and QPS looking at transformer over current protection. |

IDEAL Industries Hosts Support Ontario Youth's Tools In The Trades Boot Camp

In Ajax, Ontario, Ideal Industries (Canada) Ltd. conducted an Electrical boot camp for Support Ontario Youth on September 17th. The province of Ontario recently announced a nearly $4 million investment in Support Youth Ontario programmes, which will give hands-on training for young people interested in jobs as electricians, plumbers, millwrights, automotive repair technicians, and horticulturists/transportation. 2021 Changes in the Canadian Electrical Code: Class 2 Transformer Overcurrent Protection

This is the fourth in the series of articles detailing significant changes for the 2021 Canadian Electrical Code Part I (CE Code) that may impact electrical equipment manufacturers. Through my knowledge and experience, it has been common practice for many years to install a Class 2 transformer with 15 A overcurrent protection in the primary circuit.
