B.C Trade Certification / In Case You Missed It
B.C. has taken the next steps towards a new skilled trades certification system. SkilledTradesBC will initially be applied to 10 trades including Powerline Technician, Industrial Electrician and Construction Electrician. B.C. is projecting that there will be 85,000 new job openings for trade workers by 2031. The new system aims to help meet that demand by making training easier to access and providing earlier access to the trades for young people choosing a career path, as well as providing supports for workers challenging exams. The transition to SkilledTradesBC will take place from 2022 to 2024. This issue also features some articles we've published throughout the month, in case you missed them!
