Events The goal here at CB OnBoard is to strengthen the community. What’s going on with boaters in the many corners of this country? Do the east coasters know what’s going on in the west? Or the middle? Or on the various inland lakes and waterways? Probably not but YOU are about to help.
If you are at a marina, yacht club or some hidden lake, please share.
Last week I was at tiny Aylesford Lake in Nova Scotia. It’s not really a secret, but it is a bit remote and only the handful of cottagers know its whereabouts.. If you find it, you’ll be delighted. A gorgeous beach, a secluded launch ramp and a small but mighty club with a hard-racing fleet of National One Designs and a lot of picnic tables for outdoor socializing. Who knew?

Flare Disposal Cancelled, Free Safety Checks On
The Safety Education and Flare Disposal Program will no longer be offered. CanBoat (Formerly Canadian Power and Sail Squadrons) have learned that Transport Canada through it’s Boating Safety Contribution Program, will no long be funding this program. So, as of now we will not be setting up or supporting any events that involve the collection of outdated flares.

2025 Toronto Boat Show Announced for January 18 – 26
It seems early to be thinking of January boat shows, but the Toronto Boat Show (TIBS) has just confirmed its dates and announced that the opening on Friday will be dropped and the Show will now open on a Saturday. The show will run nine days including two full weekends. The Toronto International Boat Show is a significant event in the City of Toronto and has long-term dates at the Enercare Centre, Exhibition Place.
