Virtual Reality Training / Guide to the CE Code
This issue features another installment of Bill Burr's code series, this time looking at Section 64, which covers renewable energy, energy production, and energy storage systems. We also recently spoke to Chris Swick and Denise Miller from NETCO about how they are implementing VR training for apprentices as well as a hoisting and rigging course for electricians. The federal government continues to invest in the skilled trades, with funding announced for small and medium sized business to take on apprentices. There are 39 eligible Red Seal Trades, including Construction Electrician, Industrial Electrician and Powerline Technician. |

NETCO received over $4 million in funding from Ontario’s Skills Development Fund (SDF), in part to develop virtual reality (VR) training programs for electrical apprentices and electricians. We spoke to Chris Swick, who is the Executive Director and Denise Miller, NETCO’s Communications and Marketing Manager to learn more about the VR training they are rolling out. Read More |
