Amerlux Expands Signature Downlight Series with Hornet HP Select

New Jersey-based Amerlux has announced its latest addition to its signature, award-winning Hornet downlight series — a versatile fixture that caters to retail and commercial applications without compromising on budget or design.

The new Hornet HP Select downlight offers an impressive output of over 2,000 lumens in a 75-degree distribution. The series also offers a Solite lensing feature, enhancing visual comfort and providing a quiet, aesthetically pleasing aesthetic in round and square apertures.

“Let’s face it: the typical downlight application is for ambient lighting. We don’t need to complicate the design — we need to control the optics to make it comfortable and efficient and drive the LED to fullest potential without compromising the cost of ownership,” said Bill Plageman, VP/Marketing. “The Hornet HP Select continues the Hornet family tradition of performance by delivering the right amount of light in a more price-conscious way.”

Small in size but big on performance, the Hornet HP Select is available in trimmed, trimless or millwork, offering flexibility to accommodate diverse spaces. Compatible with existing Hornet downlight infrastructure, the Hornet HP Select is also perfect for retrofit applications as well as new construction. The Hornet Family features several color temperature options from 2700K to 4000K and a choice of 83 or 90+ CRI.

Equipped with an electronic constant-current LED driver and ELV or TRIAC dimming, the Hornet HP Select integrates with all pre-existing dimming systems. The inclusion of various trim finishes, such as Matte Black, Matte White, and Matte Silver, along with the option of a white or black flange, allows for flexible design customization.

Earlier this year, the spec-grade Hornet HP track head received Energy Star certification, affirming its exceptional performance and strict adherence to rigorous energy-efficiency standards.

Like the track head series, the Hornet HP Select downlight showcases a compact and precise design, delivering consistent color rendering and performance, backed by a five-year limited warranty.

The evolution of the Hornet lighting collection underlines a theme highlighted in Amerlux’s new corporate video, which emphasizes the company’s transformative technologies in making project design light-years faster and better for architects and lighting designers.

The video features the robust design, engineering and production capabilities of Amerlux’s state-of-the-art 200,000-sq.-ft. manufacturing facility in Oakland featuring multiple-stacking C&C laser-cutting capabilities, advanced photometric labs and reportedly the industry’s swiftest conveyor powdercoat system. Amerlux is also committed to sustainability, green manufacturing and human-centric building automation.

“Take the Hornet LED downlight collection and our innovative approach to reinventing it to be more efficient and cost-effective,” Plageman said. “Our unique blend of in-house technology, experience and know-how empowered us to accomplish both goals. We’re not your typical lighting company. We continuously stand apart, a fact that’s evident in this video and underscored by our latest product launches and capabilities.”

Amerlux’s leading role with parent company Delta Electronics and their family of companies in creating sustainable and productive, net-zero carbon spaces is also featured.
