On September 11, 2022 George Albert Wilcox, retired owner of George’s Service Centre (Marine & Sports), peacefully passed away with his family by his side at the age of 82.

George was born in Kirkland Lake, Ontario. He grew up in Eganville, Ontario and had many entrepreneurial adventures including barbering and onto owning a dry-cleaning business. He was known as one of Renfrew County’s most successful businessmen. His business started in Eganville as George’s Service Centre. It was expanded by his son Jeff to include new locations in Ottawa and Kingston Ontario.

George’s 3 top commandments for business and life were

1. A smile will go a long way
2. Honesty
3. A positive attitude

The family would like to extend heartfelt appreciation for the care provided by Dr. Malinowski, Delana and the wonderful hospice team at Madawaska Valley Hospice, Barry’s Bay.

Services took place at Zohr Family Funeral Home, Eganville on Thursday September 15 with the Funeral Service and Internment held in St. John’s Anglican Church and at St. John’s Anglican Cemetery.
