Clubs: Did you know that if the instructors/coaches in your club/school are not registered, and there is an incident, your clubs’ insurance could be null and void? You can find out if your instructors are registered by searching for them on a list available online: https://members.sailing.ca/index.php?lang=en&action=search.instructorSearch

Instructors: did you know that if you are not registered with Sail Canada as an instructor to deliver a CANSail course, the evaluation you complete may be void? Please ensure that you are a registered instructor, with valid prerequisites and up-to-date certifications. Spring Thaw Luncheon Blooms Again

The Spring Thaw Luncheon had been a part of the season for GTA boaters for many years until the passing of its founder and key organizer, Marjorie Patterson. Sail Canada introduced its Board of Directors for 2021-2022 following the Annual General Meeting held virtually on Friday, October 22. President Hugh McGugan (ON) has been re-elected by acclamation and will start his second two-year term as head of the National Sport Organization.

Canada lowers the boom at Edge Midwinters

Talent will eventually reveal itself. Bruce Millar, a Canadian Paralympics sailor has been working with Edge Sailing on a new jib boom and jib configuration. This month it seemed to hit a new level. Bruce took his modified 2.4 meter with a jib boom out and won the Edge Midwinters. His scoreline was impressive, he threw out a second place finish.

Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Roue

On June 18, Armdale Yacht Club and the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic host a Friday parade of sail, and a Saturday race for the Roue class, to celebrate the 100^th anniversary of the fleet. The parade of sail commences at 6:00 pm, leaving from AYC to downtown Halifax.
