May 5, 2021 marks the day that the UL 943 code affecting self-testing GFCI protection for portable power equipment takes effect. This UL Standard affects GFCI’s used in portable power applications.

The updated standard applied to installed GFCI’s several years ago and is now a requirement for portable power applications as well. Combined with UL 1640, Open Neutral Protection, makes portable power significantly safer.
