Sailing on “Lake St. Stupid”

The Canada – US border cuts directly though Lake St Clair, with about 1/3 on the US side, and 2/3 in Canadian territory. That imaginary line that runs down the middle of Lake St Clair gives all sailors from both sides of the border a place to enjoy racing crowd and cruising.

In Toronto last week, Scott Shawyer launched Canada Ocean Racing, a new offshore sailing team. Backed by renowned British sailor Alex Thomson and supported by BC-based Mustang Survival, Shawyer’s campaign aims to lead and inspire the development of offshore sailing in Canada.

52nd Southern Straits Classic set for April 15-17, 2022

The West Vancouver Yacht Club (WVYC) is excited to welcome back the Southern Straits Regatta after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 52^nd running of the Easter weekend race will see sailors crisscrossing Georgia Strait testing their strategy, skill, and endurance while racing overnight in early season conditions.

Règles de course à la voile

Les athlètes ainsi que les officiels de course sont invités à participer à une série de discussions en ligne sur les règles. Au total, trente scénarios différents impliquant bateau à bateau seront présentés, ce qui mettra au défi et améliorera les connaissances de chacun sur les règles de course à la voile.
