Micheline FoucherThe Canadian Paint and Coatings Association’s (CPCA) Director of Administration, Micheline Foucher, has officially retired after serving the association and its membership for 47 years.

“Micheline has been associated with CPCA for a very long time, always putting the association’s interests at the forefront and she is to be applauded for her strong commitment,” said Gary LeRoux, president and CEO of CPCA.

To commemorate her many years of contributions and dedication to the industry, CPCA celebrated Foucher’s career with an instrumental farewell played by La Famille Painchaude and photo presentation that looked back on her history with the association, at the annual Chair Awards Dinner hosted at the Fairmont Chateau Frontenac in Quebec City on May 26. Along with this touching display, which had many attendees dabbing their eyes, Foucher was also presented one of the Industry Achievement Awards, an accolade presented to individuals who demonstrate exceptional achievement in advancing the interest of the industry and/or the Association.

As she embarks on new adventures in her retirement, Foucher has passed the torch to Fiona Fei, who has taken on her new role as Director of Fiona FeiAdministration for the CPCA.

“We are now pleased to welcome Fiona to CPCA and see her enthusiasm in picking up where Micheline left off,” said LeRoux.

In 2011, Fei came to Canada from China as an international student to study at Carleton University, majoring in accounting with a minor in supply chain management. She graduated in 2016 with an Honours bachelor’s degree in commerce. Following graduation, Fei gained valuable experience working with investment companies where her role was focused on administration and managing client relationships.

“I get a great sense of fulfillment and accomplishment from helping others and solving problems. More recently I completed the Carleton University Data Analysis Bootcamp, and I am continuing CPA studies,” said Fei.

“In January of 2022, I started working with CPCA. The Canadian Paint and Coatings Industry is new to me, and I felt I had so much to learn. Micheline’s industry knowledge and her deep understanding of the history of many of CPCA’s member companies was invaluable in my training. Her patience, expert and experienced knowledge has given me confidence in my new role,” said Fei. “Micheline’s years of dedication to CPCA, and to the industry are motivational for me. I look forward to working on building upon the foundation she has left and meeting more of our members, industry leaders, and learning more from those in the paint and coatings industry.”

She adds, “This year’s 108th Annual Conference & AGM provided me with more insight into the industry, the challenges it faces, and its many successes. I hope my knowledge and experience will add value to CPCA, its members, and the industry as I follow in Micheline’s footsteps.”
