Courtney_002.jpgThe Aluminum Anodizers Council (AAC) has elected Janette Courtney, Division Environmental, Health and Safety Director of Bonnell Aluminum in Newnan, GA, to her first term as Chair of the council. This is the first time the Aluminum Anodizers Council has elected a woman to the position of Chair of the association.

The decision was made at the annual Board of Directors elections during the Aluminum Summit in Nashville, TN, in September.

Courtney has been on the AAC Board of Directors since 2015 and currently chairs the Government Affairs and Advocacy Committee.

“I am honored to be the first elected female Chairperson of the Aluminum Anodizers Council,” Courtney says. “Starting my career outside of this industry, I have learned a lot about anodizing aluminum and have made many friends in the industry by being an active member of the AAC. I look forward to being the Chairperson of the AAC and partnering with the great volunteers to lead this organization. I encourage other AAC members to actively engage in the Council either on committees or as future presenters at conferences.”

Rounding out the Executive Committee, Jon Ledin of AaCron, Inc. in Minneapolis, MN, was elected to his first term as Vice Chairman of the Council. Todd Hamilton of Southern Aluminum Finishing in Atlanta, GA, will serve as Immediate Past Chairman, and Jeff Henderson was re-elected to the non-voting position of AAC President. In addition, three members were newly elected to the AAC Board of Directors. John Thornton of Apple Inc. in Cupertino, CA, was elected to his first term as a Firm Director. Tej Patel of Techevon, LLC in Chicago, IL, was elected to his first term as a Supplier Director, and Mary Oakley of Bright Aluminum Technology in Leland, NC, was elected to her first term as a Professional Director.

The four remaining Directors continue their current Board terms, including Vance Jones, Firm Director from Easton Technical Products in Salt Lake City, UT. Casey Miller, Firm Director from Spectrum Aluminum Finishing in Muskego, WI, Robert Laduron, Firm Director from Linetec in Wausau, WI, and Linda Newman, Supplier Director from Quaker Houghton International in Alpharetta, GA.
