The appointment of Product Care’s new president and CEO, Brian Bastien, will be effective on July 3, 2023. Product Care is also pleased to announce that Mark Kurschner, after serving Product Care as president and CEO since 2002, will continue with Product Care on a part-time basis as VP, Legal and Government Affairs, while supporting a smooth transition for Bastien to his new role.
Product Care’s Board of Directors welcomes Bastien and is confident that he will do a great job as the organisation’s new leader. He has extensive experience in the highly regulated brewing industry, which has also given him significant exposure to recycling regulations. In a former role, he worked at the Alberta Beverage Container Recycling Corporation in Calgary. He has strong leadership skills and significant experience working with regulators in multi-stakeholder environments. The board is certain Bastien will quickly pick up on the EPR landscape across the jurisdictions in which Product Care operates.
Product Care also takes this opportunity to sincerely thank Mark Kurschner for his positive impact on the organisation and its sustainability objectives across Canada. Kurschner has been a true trail blazer in the industry and Product Care is delighted to see him continue with the organisation.
