Poised for the Future
There is a lot of discussion about how technology will continue to evolve, which systems will become obsolete, and how lighting can expand out of its niche to seamlessly integrate with other components. There are manufacturers, such as MaxLite (see our Special Feature in this edition), who are proactively looking ahead and guiding their R&D efforts in an expansive direction, and there are others who opt to focus on supplying those customers who are slower in accepting change with what they need to finish the jobs in their pipeline. Both approaches are warranted. Unlike the last 100 years in lighting, developments are happening rapidly. Helping customers adapt to new tools and methods will be the challenge. |
