Eau Canada
We stand onboard for thee
I love it when a plan comes together. How fortunate that Canada has the most lakes and coastline anywhere and that we are boaters! Because we are not going anywhere for the foreseeable future – we are enjoying the harbours, lakes and natural beauty right here at home!
As we make plans for this summer’s adventures, the destination list is all red and white. The advantage, of course, is that no matter how much of Canada you explore there’s always more. Personally, I will be boating to ports on the north shore of Lake Ontario, exploring cute fish ‘n’ chips places and the occasional shoreside beverage retreat. Then, later in the summer, I might consider a charter up the Rideau. I have never been there but the PORTS Guide makes it look mighty nice. This is the opportunity.

Below-The-Water Inspections in the Before Launch – Power and Sail
When the boat is in the water, It’s easy to take for granted the parts of the boat that are under the water. It’s also convenient to think ‘everything worked well last year, so I won’t worry about it this year.’ For powerboat owner, while there’s a number of checks to perform on the underwater machinery before launch, there’s a lot more happening besides propulsion.

Developing a Sail Inventory for Short-Handed and Distance Racing
The Lake Ontario Short Handed Racing Series (LOSHRS) is a very well attended series for single and double handed crews, and the Great Lakes Single Handed Society promotes other similar series all over the Great Lakes.
