Dread not the off season! While my expectation is to withdraw from the world as we know it once the clock falls back, this year OnBoard is exploding with stories rolling in from across the land. Bill Abbottt Sr - Boatbuilder, Olympian
The country lost one of its most important boating figures, William Alexander Abbott, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, Sarnia ON boat builder on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2024, at the age of 98. In 1991, at the second annual CYA Sail Training Symposium, the Sarnia Yacht Club donated a trophy in honour of William Abbott Senior, who as well as being one of Canada’s best known yacht builders, has contributed significantly to sail training at Sarnia Yacht Club.

Dalhousie University Winner of CICSA Fleet Racing Nationals
Congratulations to Dalhousie University who won the last CICSA 2024 Fall season event, the Fleet Racing National Championships, held by McGill University at the Pointe-Claire Yacht Club at the end of October. A total of 10 teams were in action and completed 16 races. University of Toronto finished in second place, followed by the Royal Military College of Canada.
