The La Gabelle Power Station Blows out 100 Candles
The La Gabelle power station, located between the municipalities of Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel and Saint-Étienne-des-Grès, on the Saint-Maurice River, is celebrating 100 candles! It was on April 14, 1924 that the first four turbine-alternator groups began to produce electricity. A fifth group was added in 1931. Damage Incidents to FortisBC’s Gas Lines Down in 2023 as more British Columbians Clicking or Calling Before They Dig
Of the 2023 recorded damage incidents, the region with the highest percentage of line strikes is Metro Vancouver at 327 (38.7 per cent), followed by Thompson Okanagan at 183 (21.6 per cent) and Vancouver Island at 132 (15.6 per cent).
