ESA Administrative Penalties to Deter Underground Economy Now in Force
In an effort to reduce illegal and unsafe electrical installations across Ontario, the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) will be able to impose administrative penalties beginning April 1st 2023. Hammond Power Solutions Announces Adrian Thomas as Chief Executive Officer
Adrian Thomas has been announced by Hammond Power Solutions Inc. as the Company’s next Chief Executive Officer, replacing Bill Hammond who will assume the position of Executive Chairman after 22 years as the CEO. Mr. Thomas will also be appointed to HPS’ Board of Directors. The announcement follows an extensive search process conducted by the Board of Directors which included the evaluation of highly qualified internal and external candidates and was aided with the support of an executive search firm. New STANDATA Regarding Energy Storage Systems in 2021 CE Code
The current electrical code, C22.1:21 – Canadian Electrical Code, Part I, Rule 64-918 2) prohibits the installation of ESS’s utilizing batteries below grade, including basements of dwelling units. Additionally, 64-918 4) prohibits ESS’s with a storage capacity above 1 kWh from being installed in a dwelling unit or living space of a residential occupancy including clothes closets, storage rooms, bathrooms, stairways, or in any similar undesirable locations. BCCA’s Statement on the “Emoji” Ruling
The King’s Bench of Saskatchewan recently issued a ruling in South West Terminal Ltd. v Achter Land & Cattle Ltd. holding that a contract was formed by the use of a thumbs up emoji “👍” in a text message.
