Investment in Building Construction, February 2022
Investment in building construction increased 4.0% in February, reaching $20.0 billion for the first time. Most provinces reported gains, with Quebec accounting for over 50% of the increase. On a constant dollar basis (2012=100), investment in building construction increased 3.9% to $12.7 billion. Residential construction continues to show strength. Investment in single family homes rose 4.9% to $8.0 billion in February. Read More |

Wholesale Trade, February 2022
Wholesale sales fall for first time in seven months. Wholesale sales fell 0.4% in February to $78.8 billion, the first decline since July 2021. Lower sales were posted in the personal and household goods, building material and supplies, and motor vehicle and motor vehicle accessories and parts subsectors, while sales in all other subsectors increased. Volumes of wholesale goods sold fell 1.4% in February. Read More |

Monthly Survey of Manufacturing, February 2022
Manufacturing sales increased for the fifth consecutive month, up 4.2% to $67.7 billion in February on higher sales in 14 of 21 industries, led by the motor vehicle (+25.0%), food (+5.3%), petroleum and coal (+6.7%), and wood (+8.5%) industries. Meanwhile, sales of computer and electronic products decrease the most, down 7.9% to $1.2 billion in February. Total manufacturing sales rose 19.5% on a year-over-year basis in February. Read More |

Johnson Controls announced findings from the 15th annual Energy Efficiency Indicator Survey, which revealed that 62 percent of organizations surveyed expect to increase investments in energy efficiency, renewable energy, or smart building technology in 2022, indicating a return to pre-pandemic levels.
