Celebrating summer
It’s the season of fun!! Last week, the people at Mimico Cruising Club who buy into that concept in a big way held a highly summery, highly festive party to prove it.
Mimico is an intriguing club located in the booming west side of Toronto. Its membership is a good representation of the entire Canadian boating community with lots of powerboats, a whole row of hot racing sailboats and another 200 or so multi-purpose boats that are both actively cruised and regularly used as floating cottage docks to entertain friends and family. MCC also has strong contingent of social members who love the place. As far as I could tell, when they invited me to the kickoff soiree for the increasingly popular Race to Kingston (R2K) that the club organizes, everyone comes to enjoy the occasion regardless of stripe.
