Boaters Care: Offering a lifeline to one of our own.
Longtime boater/friend John Hanna sent along this note regarding Scott Taylor.
Scott Taylor has been a part of the boating community his whole life: as a racing sailor, financier, and in the last ten years as a yacht broker at Anchor Yacht Sales, where he’s helped almost 150 individuals and families find the boat of their dreams. Now Scott needs the community to be here for him.
Scott is fighting a cancer that requires him to have costly monthly treatments not covered by public health care. He has continued to work since his diagnosis, but the financial burden has become unbearable.

In general, the quality of the canvas enclosure is a function of many factors – the workmanship, quality of trim and design, the quality of fabric (where Sunbrella represents a gold standard), and quality of the clear plastic/vinyl.

Hot Hull Colours: Seas of Blue
The CB team has been cruising around the winter boat shows checking out all the dazzling new boats – and colours! Amongst the sea of boats, there was clearly a hot colour that caught everyone’s eyes… blue! Greens and reds also stood out in the crowds, and we were surprised Barbie pink didn’t make an appearance. But in the end, it was blue that stole the show.

Mid-winter boat hugs
Sometimes I wonder if my boat is thinking about me. Do do ever wonder, too? We’re never going to know how our boats really feel about us, but we can keep the romance alive, especially during the dreary days between Valentines and St Patrick’s Day by checking in. Go for a visit, even if it’s a short one. Say hello and daydream of warm summer days together.

Have Your Say
We are contemplating electrification on our coast here. I have an off the grid place on an Island; I can’t even charge my lawnmower, or chainsaw battery. We have a plan to install a charging station over on Bowen Island which does have hydro. The good news is that most marinas have 15/30/50 amp shore power at each berth, so not a problem for the most part. Onboard solar panel could augment charging.
