Alberta is creating 3,200 new seats with their next budget, across all trades, Nova Scotia has set aside funding for tools and technology for apprentices, and the National Apprenticeship Conference is coming up in June. You also may be interested in an upcoming webinar hosted by BCEA, Carol McGlogan discusses electrification within the context of a white paper EFC commissioned by the Pembina Group to examine the opportunities and challenges associated with the transition toward Net-Zero by 2050.

Alberta to Invest in Apprenticeship Seats Through 2024 Budget
Through their Budget 2024, Alberta’s government would invest an additional $24 million per year over the next three years to create 3,200 apprenticeship seats at 11 post-secondary institutions across the province. The new investment would bring the total funding through the Apprenticeship Learning Grant for the 2024-25 academic year to $78 million. Read More... |

New Supports Announced for Apprentices to Purchase Tools and Technology in Nova Scotia
Two new grants will help Nova Scotian apprentices purchase tools and technology to support their training and launch their careers. The Province will provide a one-time grant of up to $1,000 to purchase new tools, equipment and clothing required, while a technology support grant will offer up to $900 for a computer and accessories to apprentices enrolled in training.
